Thank you so much to Split Second Sound and DJ Smylee for making our wedding fantastic! We live in and got married in Greenville, SC, and the small mileage fee for them to travel from Charlotte was well worth it. They are extremely professional, and from our first video call with the company to our final breakdown of details with DJ Smylee the week before the wedding, we knew we were in good hands. DJ Smylee handled our ceremony, dinner, and reception music and did a great job introducing the wedding party and the speakers giving toasts. Split Second Sound also provided our officiant with a mic, which was very helpful. We got the lights with the package, which made for a really nice atmosphere. Our music selections were handled perfectly, and DJ Smylee created the perfect playlists moving everyone from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner to dancing. The dance party playlist was incredible. We and our guests had a blast! Thank y’all for all your assistance making our wedding a truly epic celebration!

Review for DJ Smylee DJ Smylee was absolutely amazing at our son Corey and his new wife Nicole’s wedding this past weekend! This was a truly special celebration—this tight-knit group of about seven friends has been in each other’s weddings for the past four years, and they know how to celebrate. They’re on the dance floor from the first song to the last, and DJ Smylee kept that energy going all night long. This was the first time a different DJ was used for one of their weddings, and from the very first note, we knew the bar had been raised. DJ Smylee not only listened to Corey and Nicole’s playlist requests but also personalized each song to fit their unique vibe. She brought her own incredible energy to the booth and elevated the entire experience. Nothing was ever too much to ask—she was responsive, professional, and truly passionate about making the night unforgettable. We had the absolute best experience with DJ Smylee (Chanel Crosskey) from Split Second Sound at our wedding! From the very beginning, she was warm, easy to communicate with, and incredibly intentional about every detail of our day. She was going so hard that some of my friends started doing splits 😂😂. One of the most special moments was the reflection dance she suggested, something we hadn’t planned but ended up being one of our favorite parts of the entire night. It gave us a quiet, beautiful moment to soak everything in, and we’re so grateful she encouraged us to do it. I can’t recommend split second sound enough! We learned about them almost 7 years ago. They have now done multiple family weddings and birthdays. DJ Smylee keeps the party going. I didn’t have time to send in many suggestions, but when I asked to keep the vibe going… DJ Smylee delivered!

We used DJ Smylee with Split Second Sound to DJ our March 2025 wedding and she was AMAZING! From the initial phone call a couple weeks before the wedding we knew she was going to be the perfect DJ for us--she listened to all of our ideas and provided guidance for the areas where we weren't sure what we wanted. We asked for specialized cuts for our first dance song and she delivered our customized request within 24 hours so we could listen to see if we liked it. We had some unique requests (i.e. the 'Superbowl intro' of Not Like Us) and once again she delivered. Our guests are still raving about her one month later and so are we! Don't hesitate to book SSS, specifically DJ Smylee (Chanel) as she is SO professional, easygoing, helpful, and EXCEPTIONAL at her job!!!

Split Second Sound is an awesome company to work with. The owner met with us to walk us through our options and the entire process was very easy. We loved the variety in DJs/packages and ability to add services on a la carte. You can tell how much they value professionalism & quality, which was important to us. DJ Smylee was INCREDIBLE! She was easy to work with, kind & read the room extremely well. We had a tricky request to somehow incorporate karaoke at the end of our reception and she executed perfectly! Our wedding wouldn't have been the success that it was without her -- we had guests singing her praises all night (and the following week). Could not recommend a better DJ for your wedding!!

DJ Chanel, saxophonist Zach and violinist from Split Second Sound delivered an incredible performance at our wedding in Taylor, SC on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Our guest thoroughly enjoyed the music played during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. A special mention to the violinist who performed during the event. I could not find out the name of the violinist, but we greatly enjoyed the music played at the ceremony. They were very impressed with Zach's ability to play in sync with the music. We are extremely grateful for DJ Chanel stepping in to save the day during the toast, as our parents had forgotten to remind everyone to raise their glasses and toast. Our parents were anxious lol Thank you to DJ Chanel, saxophonist Zach, and the violinist for adding a special touch to our day!

If you aren’t booking DJ Smylee from Split Second Sound for your wedding, you’re doing it wrong. We had a wedding with Persian, American, and Indian culture and somehow Smylee, who I can only assume is God’s gift to the DJ world, made sure everyone felt represented. She reads a dance floor so well and will mix whatever you want. Thanks for making the wedding legendary!

DJ SMYLEE BROUGHT DOWN THE HOUSE!!! I requested nerdy mash ups and boy howdy I got the best music I could asked for. I have attached a photo of the dance floor as you can tell the music got a bunch of introvert to dance. Everyone wanted all the info on the DJ. DJ Smylee and Split Second Sound were fantastic at our wedding. Everything was seamless and regardless of the fact that our DJ hadn’t been at the venue we selected before, she got everything set up and ready with ease. We had multiple spaces within our venue for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and she had it all covered. She had mics for days with all of our speeches and activities. Best of all she kept the party going and the dance floor full all night long. We told her the last song we wanted and she set up an absolutely fire final few to end it all with a bang. DJ Smylee was amazing! It was really important to us to get a DJ who was going to listen to what we wanted and deliver the vibes for our wedding reception. Chanel was perfect and kept the party going all night. My husband is notorious among his fraternity brothers for rapping Eminem and as soon as Chanel found this out, she was passing him the mic. It was a pretty iconic moment for all our guests!

Hello, Below is my review for Chanel / DJ SMYLEE: First, the music that was going to be played at my wedding was the very first thing I started thinking about after getting engaged - before my dress or the wedding venue! Needless to say, it was hard for me to pick a DJ and I was nervous about it. I selected Chanel, DJ Smylee as the DJ for my wedding this past weekend  - and she was amazing from beginning to end! Before the wedding day, she was in contact with me and we had a great meeting to discuss what my fiance and I were envisioning. Come the big day, she didn't miss a beat! She played the songs/genres we wanted, set the tone we were going for and kept the crowd going. She even provided some music/transition ideas after gauging the room and then checked in with me on some song requests from attendees. DJ Smylee was also just so extremely pleasant to work with during the process. Her smile and her joy are contagious! I'd definitely recommend her! Thank you for making the experience so wonderful for us and our wedding attendees! Also, I had Zach Wheeler play the Sax during cocktail hour and dinner. And I wanted to say that he was awesome! We heard a lot of compliments on the addition of the sax player overall but just how great he was and how he helped set a nice, unique vibe for cocktail hour and dinner! Fun, Considerate, Warm, and Celebratory!

From the moment my husband and I booked with Split Second Sound, they were incredible to work with. We had an initial phone meeting to discuss important information like our date, our music style, and what we wanted from our DJ. Based on the information, Split Second partnered us with Chanel - "DJ Smylee" - for our day. When we started our meetings with Chanel closer to our wedding day, we knew from the first moment we spoke to her that she was going to make our day absolutely perfect! She had our music style down PERFECTLY and had both sides of the family (a very multi-racial and multi-ethnic wedding) dancing all night! She was engaging, funny, and incredibly warm throughout our meetings, but also on our actual wedding day.
