Dominic "Dom" Rubano
Originally from Cleveland Ohio, Dominic moved to NYC at 18 to attend school at the renowned Drummers Collective and later earned a BFA in Music at Long Island University. While attending school he worked for multiple recording and rehearsal studios playing and filling in for as many acts as he could handle. This led to a 9 year run as a session musician and touring all over the world. In 2013 he relocated to Winston-Salem to start a family. Not only a performer, he prides himself on being an educator with over 20 years of teaching experience.
Dominic considers himself a YES man, never turning down opportunities to play and teach. The best part about being a part of Split Second is not one gig is ever the same. Nothing makes him happier than smiling faces on a dance floor.
He has studied with the likes of Pat Petrillo (Gloria Gaynor, Patti LeBelle) Jason Bittner (Shadows Fall, Anthrax) and Vince Cherico (Randy Brecker, Eddie Palmieri). He’s played on the I Love the 80’s tour, while also playing with members of KMFDM, Matisyahu, Brian Jackson, and Miss Peppermint.
Dom has also opened up for the likes of Kenny Chesney, Lynyrd Skynard, Rascal Flatts, Dan & Shay, and Earth Wind and Fire. Happily married with two girls he enjoys baking and Cleveland Cavaliers Basketball.
