Brittany Estes is a North Carolina native who spent ten years teaching kindergarten before bringing her talent for organization, enthusiasm, and positivity to Split Second Sound. A natural at multitasking and creativity, Brittany seamlessly transitioned from the classroom to the world of events, where she now works diligently behind the scenes to ensure each couple and client has an unforgettable experience. With her attention to detail and love for customer service, Brittany helps the SSS team make the booking and planning process easy and stress-free for everyone.

Brittany’s journey with Split Second Sound started in a unique way. She was a client first! Brittany and her husband, Scott, chose SSS for their wedding, where the DJ had everyone dancing and having a great time, even her 80-year-old grandfather. That unforgettable experience led Brittany to join the SSS team in 2018, and since then, she has taken on multiple roles. Brittany loves finding reasons to celebrate, bringing her festive flair for holidays, birthdays, and a touch of fun to the office.

In her free time, Brittany enjoys making memories with her husband, Scott, and their daughter, Carson, along with their two very energetic puppies, a Golden Retriever and a Shih Tzu, who make quite the dynamic duo. Brittany loves spending time with family and friends, and she never turns down a spicy margarita.

With her passion for people and dedication to excellence, Brittany is proud to help create unforgettable celebrations as part of the Split Second Sound team.

Kylee Kent is a recent transplant to the Charlotte area from Kansas City, Missouri. Kylee brings a diverse set of skills and experience, having worked in marketing and communications for a non-profit arts group, the OZ Museum / Columbian Theatre Foundation in Wamego, KS, a thriving restaurant, Chick-fil-A Rufe Snow in North Richland Hills, TX, and a full-service commercial real estate firm, LANE4 Property Group in Kansas City, MO. Each of these industries and unique experiences refined her marketing, brand development, multi-tasking, networking, and community outreach skillset, and have continued to foster her desire to connect with people and provide positive service in all situations. Kylee is excited to embrace this new chapter with Split Second Sound to both serve clients with their entertainment needs, as well as the industry as a whole. 

In her free time, Kylee is working toward a Master's Degree in Modern & Contemporary Art History, fueled by both her love for art and desire to be a lifelong learner. She is enjoying being deeply immersed in all that Charlotte and NC have to offer, including exploring the city and taking trips to the mountains and beach with her friends. 

Meredith Rogers is a North Carolina native, originally from the small town of Taylorsville. She moved to Charlotte to pursue her Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

With a passion for creativity and event planning, Meredith has carved out a successful career in marketing, leveraging her experience in the wedding and events industry. This background has equipped her with a unique combination of creativity, organization, and strategic thinking—skills she brings to her role at Split Second Sound.

During her time at UNC Charlotte, Meredith honed her leadership abilities, playing sports and holding leadership roles within her sorority and other campus organizations. These experiences helped shape her into a reliable, positive team player, qualities that she continues to bring to her work with Split Second Sound.

Meredith is committed to staying at the forefront of the marketing and event industries, constantly seeking new challenges and opportunities to grow. Whether it’s crafting innovative marketing strategies or ensuring a smooth event experience, she takes pride in making a lasting impact on every project she touches.

Darren Brown was born and raised in North Carolina, and has been a valued member of the Split Second Sound team since 2017. Working as a DJ Assistant and Party Motivator, he had built energy and connections on the dance floor. Personal training under our owner, Vinny Esposito, has provided Darren with firsthand insights into the expectations of our team.

Receiving two Bachelor’s Degrees from UNCC before the age of 21, Darren had the opportunity to build a professional and compassionate attitude at a young age. As Staff Supervisor, he evaluates our DJs’ needs and prioritizes the success of the event for everyone involved.

After hanging up his dance shoes, Darren now spends his free time exploring the Charlotte area and spending quality time with his family and loved ones.

Fun fact: Darren started working for Split Second Sound at the young age of 16, making this his very first place of work!

Romelo Perry is a proud Raleigh native with a deep love for music, community, and celebration. After moving to Charlotte in 2015 to attend UNC Charlotte, Romelo earned his business degree and launched a career in Corporate Talent Acquisition. Known by his colleagues as the “Office DJ,” Romelo’s passion for music spans genres—from R&B and Soul to Indie, Country, and Classic Rock.

Romelo joined Split Second Sound to learn from the best and bring his energy and creativity to events across North Carolina. With a strong passion for helping others and creating unforgettable moments he’s a natural hype man who knows how to read a crowd and keep the party going. His middle name, Shakur—named after 2Pac—reflects his lifelong connection to music and rhythm.

Now focused on expanding Split Second Sound into the Raleigh market, Romelo is excited to bring unforgettable experiences to the community that raised him. Whether he’s curating playlists, motivating a crowd, or mentoring future talent, Romelo leads with heart, hustle, and a commitment to giving back.

In his free time, you’ll find him reading motivational books, working out, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with friends.
