DJ Kristi

we use split second sound almost exclusively for our private club events. most recently we enjoyed having Charlie Esparza for our tween halloween who kept the energy high! We've also loved having Todd Havens, Kristy Swanson, and many others. All DJs are consistently friendly, professional, and help keep our events on track!

What can I say? DJ Kristi was more than just a DJ! I did not expect what she provided whatsoever as she went above and beyond what you imagine a typical DJ would do and be for one’s wedding day! My wedding party and guests kept talking about how amazing she was the entire reception and even days following! After initially speaking with Split Second Sound owner, Vinny, via Zoom, he took my requests and personality into account and named off a few DJ’s he thought I’d work well with, one being DJ Kristi. And boy did he hit the nail on the head! I personally have never really seen or worked with a female DJ before and was excited to get to work with a fellow female for my wedding day- and honestly, she was more than my husband and I both could have ever imagined! When we first spoke during planning, we clicked immediately! She is very easy going and willing to work with you. I immediately felt like I could trust her, and my gut was not wrong in doing so! Meeting her for the first time in person was on my wedding day at Chetola in Blowing Rock, NC on 9/27/25. Myself and the bridal party had to seek shelter from rain in a gazebo near where the wedding ceremony was about to take place and lo and behold who was sitting in the gazebo waiting for us but DJ Kristi! She already had everything set up to go, too, even though she wasn’t needed till the reception a few hours later! Immediately she said hi to me and told me to not be worried, rain on one’s wedding day is good luck! And if I needed anything, she was happy to help and came prepped with eyelash glue and other things in case of a little last minute mishap or emergency! Talk about going above and beyond the DJ duties! Might I add, she dressed so nicely and looked stunning herself! The reception would not have been as fun and lively if not for her. She not only directed the crowd and played awesome music, but she mingled with the guests and made everyone feel welcomed and loved (and there were 98 guests- so that’s a feat in itself!)! All thanks to her, the energy of the crowd was consistently upbeat and positive and she even got the quietest and shyest of guests involved and cheerful! I suggested a lot of songs and had a list of must plays and she also made sure I tell her any do not plays for the evening. Outside of our must plays though, I trusted her to feel the vibes and play what she felt right in the moments throughout the reception- she did not disappoint whatsoever! I danced my butt off as did a lot of my guests the entire evening! Every song was literally a banger! She didn’t just play music though, she helped direct- whether it be with releasing tables for dinner, ensuring each event occurred (ie cut the cake, first dance, garter/bouquet tosses, etc), or kindly kicking everyone out at the end of the night for our private last dance and to prep for our sparkler exit, she conducted it all with grace and friendliness that was appreciated by all! Also, it didn’t hurt that she’s hilarious and made everyone laugh throughout the night! She was extremely detail-oriented and considerate, too- for example, during my husband’s and my intimate last dance while the sparkler exit was being prepared, she played our song and ducked down behind the DJ booth so we would get our full privacy and alone time. Small things like that took her from amazing to exceptional! Everyone loved her and was talking so highly of her by the end of the night! She seriously made my reception epic and memorable for everyone that got to be there and undoubtedly 100 times better than it would have been without her. Thank you Split Second Sound and DJ Kristi!! You were one of the best decisions we could have possibly made for a special wedding day!

Kristi the DJ and Cliff the MC were incredible!! They brought great energy, timed announcements and music perfectly, and kept the party going. Would definitely recommend!

Kristi from Split Second Sound was absolutely fantastic for our informal retirement/wedding celebration at Muddy River Distillery. She was super easy to work with, and brought really good energy to the event — she helped keep the energy up, but didn't overwhelm. We loved that there were lots of people on the dance floor throughout the party. Thank you!

First off, Kristi is hands down the best DJ ever. Her exceptional service and ability to read the crowd made our wedding yesterday an unforgettable experience. Everyone in attendance was blown away by her incredible energy, positive spirit, and top-tier DJ skills. Kristi maintained excellent communication from start to finish, making sure she understood every detail of the night. She’s polite, down-to-earth, and genuinely cares about making your event the best it can be. She doesn’t just show up—she shows up for you. Kristi Swanson, our DJ, and the entire team at SSS are PHENOMENAL! Kristi was so attentive to our needs and was completely in tune with our vision for our wedding and reception. She was the best DJ I had ever seen, at a wedding, or any other such event. She knew just what to do to keep everyone happy and everyone on the dance floor. We would 1000% recommend Kristi and SSS to anyone planning a wedding or event in Charlotte!

We booked Split Second Sound through our wedding venue, Hotel Concord. Kristi, our emcee/DJ, was great. Her experience at weddings really showed. In addition to the questionnaire that Split Second provided, Kristi booked a personal call with us a few weeks before our wedding and got to know us better and gave us some great tips and guidance for the reception. We used a string quartet for our service and cocktail hour, but Kristi even had the forethought to get the quartet's song list, just in case something happened to them. We really appreciated that commitment to making sure our day was great and we had nothing to worry about.

Split Second Sound and DJ Kristi were absolutely amazing to work with and I'm so happy she was the DJ for our wedding! We had a few issues with wedding planning during COVID but DJ Kristi and Split Second Sound were easy to work with, helpful, and accommodating. One of my priorities for the wedding day was to have fun dancing with friends and DJ Kristi made sure the dancing never stopped! From the hilariously fun intro of me and my husband to our last private dance DJ Kristi and her team made sure my husband and I had the best time. It's been 5 months since our wedding and our friends are still sharing how much they enjoyed the reception. I highly recommend asking to book DJ Kristi for your wedding! -Anna

Kristi was the BEST! From the first time we spoke with her on the phone and talked about what our vision was for the music for the reception to the very last song danced on the dance floor. ..It was perfection! People would've stayed there another hour and danced if we could have! She had such knowledge of the music people wanted to hear and kept playing so everyone would stay on the dance floor!

She is a dream to work with and wouldn't hesitate for a minute to have her DJ/Mc our next event!
