Split Second Sound was the perfect choice for our wedding! The ease of communication, learning about their packages and DJs, as well as the overall experience was unmatched. JD was absolutely incredible, he played everything we could have wanted and vibed well with guests. I highly recommend SSS for any event!

Can not recommend this company enough. From the first meeting with CJ I knew this place knew what they were doing. Her power point answered any questions I had and she was so full of smiles and genuine happiness for what she was selling. I do believe that a DJ and music at a wedding can make or break the event. The forms we filled out for our event help eased my anxiety for the event. I just knew everything was going to run smoothly. We asked for DJ JD and our main thing was - control the room. We love early 2000s, but if the crowd is digging 80s or line dances. Play what gets people on the floor. And he did an amazing job! He just radiated positive energy without over doing anything. I had a specific vision for the special dances and how I wanted things to run. And it did so perfect. He played almost all of the songs on our playlist. And I loved every minute of the music. When I told my day of coordinator that our DJ was from split second sound, she got so excited! She did a wedding a couple weeks prior and she assured me I would not be disappointed. Thank you guys for all your help!

Split Second Sound was a great choice for our wedding. We worked with James, and he gathered all the necessary information for how we wanted our day to run - must plays, do not plays, and important song lists for our special moments. He was able to read the room and keep the party going, even customizing song choices on the spot based on conversations and speeches (starting the dance portion of the evening with Love Story after the maid of honor mentioned the bride's love for Taylor Swift). Such a great experience and we're so thankful for their help in making the day run smoothly!

We are so grateful to JD and the whole crew from Split Second Sound for proving the entertainment for our wedding! The night would not have been the same without all the elements: cold sparks, live drums, and DJ JD.

We ended up having rain Saturday, so the crew had to set up in multiple locations and did so willingly.

We appreciated that the DJ was able to be flexible with us for music selections yet keep a schedule. The only thing that was missed was a few announcements about guests being able to get seconds and last call at the bar. Those are very minor and could also have been handled by the event staff as well.

DJ JD is The Best!

DJ JD is outstanding! He DJ'd our wedding at the Duke Mansion and did such an amazing job. We met with him several times before the big day to go over everything from the timing of our first dance to the overall feel. We honestly did not leave the dance floor the entire time and JD made our night a huge success. Thank you, JD!

We had a company attend the game on Saturday, Stadium Journey, which rates athletic atmospheres for Universities across the country. We received high compliments from their staff regarding you, your music choices, and the songs played during dead balls.

JD,I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for being our DJ for the company Christmas party last Saturday. I think you did a fantastic job reading our guests and playing appropriate songs during the different segments of the evening. I had a 35th birthday party for my husband and JD was my DJ and he was absolutely fabulous!!!  The party would not have been the success it was if it wasn’t for him.  He was very personable and a true joy to work with.  He felt like family.  I plan to use Split Second Sound again for my next event and will request JD as my DJ.

I am finally recovering from the grand celebration that I had this past weekend!  Let me just say that my expectations were far exceeded!  Everyone that I communicated with provided such a warm and professional service.  The follow-through and attention to detail was excellent!  Our DJ, JD was absolutely amazing!!!  He arrived in a very timely manner and had everything setup and ready to go.  He was right on queue playing the specific music that I provided for certain portion of the celebration.  I also provided a Playlist with some of my favorite music and he certainly delivered!  Prior to this event I was not aware of your company and was very happy that the Ritz recommended your services.  I didn't have to worry whether or not the DJ would show up as you came highly recommended by the Ritz Carlton, plus I quickly realized from our communication that you were a very reliable and trustworthy company. So, thank you for making my 50th Celebration a very memorable and fun Event.  It was truly a pleasure meeting and working with JD.

All that I can say is that JD and Danny were AMAZING! We had an outside wedding and it rained off and on all day. They were absolute troopers with the weather. They played every song that we had requested and made what could have been a bummer of a day into a really memorable celebration! Our guests flooded the dance floor and stayed there all night! We really can't thank JD and Danny enough for their hard work. We received so many compliments in regards to them! We will definitely use them in the future! I'm sad I didn't get to dance as much at my wedding as I do others, but luckily I didn't feel like I missed any great music, because he played it all and I could hear it wherever I was during the night! JD did an AWESOME job as our DJ. He got great feedback from all the guests and came up with a great playlist! Everyone was dancing, even my mom who barely busts a move! We were totally impressed with JD's professionalism, and loved his fun, laid-back, smooth style of DJing our wedding. It was everything we ever wanted. He helped get the crowd into it from the introductions, was very personable & approachable with all the guests & wedding party/family, and played a wide variety of music that pleased everyone. We felt very comfortable with him from our first meeting a few weeks before the event, and gave him our "must have" songs as well as additional requests that we wanted. We were so happy to hear that he incorporated almost everything that we had asked for - and that was a lot! He got on the dance floor to do the Wobble next to me, and that was a blast. As soon as the wedding party arrived, Jonathan was able to easily coordinate a few last minute things without interrupting the flow of our reception. From that point on, our entire reception ran smoothly and flawlessly with him coordinating. When JD got the dance floor going, there was nonstop dancing for 4 hours. He played all of the latest hits and the best of the best in old school r and b to keep the party moving! I’ve been told several times since our wedding that this was the most fun people had at a wedding in a long time. The dance floor was never empty…all toasts, announcements, introductions went perfectly. You get what you pay for! JD did a WONDERFUL job!!!! There were people still calling my sister & I days after the party talking about what a great job the DJ did.    We met/spoke with JD a few times before the party to ensure that he understood what we wanted because we're from NJ & we had alot of family that flew to Charlotte for the party.  He assured us that he knew exactly the type of club/classic/house music we wanted in addtion to the regular hip hop & r&b.  The ability to play the videos on the flat screen while the song was playing was a big deal to us because it also served as entertainment to the guest who weren't on the dancefloor. I think the highlight of the night was when he put on the "Wobble" & came from behind the turntables to give the crowd a tutorial & did the dance with us!!! The guests loved it & so did we :)   In closing, I'd like to say that I've given many parties & JD has to be one of the most personable DJ's I've ever come across & that is MAJOR in the entertainment business.  You are all lucky to have him onboard & we will definitely reach out to your company to request him for any future events we have!!   Thanks, Serita

“Jonny and his assistant JD were great at our wedding reception. Our guests loved that they were encouraged to make requests even before the dancing kicked off. As a result, our DJs had an idea of what our guests wanted to hear throughout the night. There are two extremely memorable moments from that evening. I will never forget being introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Peter Casey and the cheering that followed, plus the Boondock Saints theme song playing in the background was awesome! Also, I'll never forget our guests circled up and swaying to Piano Man as our last song. My husband and I never left the dance floor that evening, nor did the majority of our guests. I think the only complaint of the night was that the dance floor wasn't big enough for everyone! We had a blast and would recommend your services to others."
