Also known as “Big Mike,” Michael prides himself on putting others before himself. Whether that be at home with his girlfriend and four children, or with his DJ career. Ever since his younger days growing up in Pittsburgh, Mike has always had a love for music. He grew up playing the guitar, piano, and saxophone moving on to DJing when his older brother sneakily tricked him into asking for a mixer for Christmas. From there, Mike and his brother taught themselves the ins-and-outs of DJing; playing for friends, family, and local parties. He finds joy in making others happy, performing as a DJ and a teacher in the classroom for over 13 years. Mike has the ability to connect with people of all different backgrounds, regardless of who they are. His main goal is to make every event that he performs memorable. No matter the size or type of event, Mike is creating memories for everyone involved. Some of Mike's most recently attended event locations have included The Ridge Asheville - Marshall, NC, Champagne Manor - Monroe, NC, Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation - Charlotte, NC, Green Gables Farm - Statesville, NC, Holiday Inn Center City - Charlotte, NC, Bechtler Museum - Charlotte, NC, and many more! With his glass always half-full, Mike finds the good in every situation, helping others to do the same through his involvement in the community. Through his fraternity (Alpha Phi Alpha), Mike is able to use his passion for music to direct church choirs in several states, helping to further teach the youth of America. It’s difficult for Mike to define what he does as ‘hard work,’ since music and making people feel comfortable and happy comes easily to him. He loves to spotlight other people’s inner values, love for music, and fun quirks. This is what makes him one of our most versatile DJs. Whatever your vision, Mike is right there with you working on making it come to life. His amazing, light-hearted, and thankful views on life have allowed Mike to create life-long friendships within Split Second Sound. He continues to grow these relationships whether he’s playing at the Carolina Panthers stadium, a school dance, or at a wedding. His goal is to form meaningful and unforgettable bonds with everyone.
