know better than anyone that music is one of the best ways to amp up the energy
at your wedding and create a truly memorable experience! The Knot
recently published an article on the top weddings songs of 2014, so we thought
it was only appropriate to share them. Here they are and why we love
1. “All of Me” John Legend… a super
romantic, heart-felt, emotional song that makes for the perfect first dance
2. “Safe & Sound” Capital Cities… a
fun, energetic, upbeat melody that will have guests of all ages groovin’!
3. “XO” Beyonce… the perfect song
to get your guests on the dance floor, or to end the night with! The Knot
calls this song the 2014 version of Journey’s, ‘Don’t Stop Believing.’
4. “Treasure” Bruno Mars… (as if Bruno
Mars wasn’t enough) this super sweet and fun song is another great tune to get
guests of all ages on the dance floor! It’s the perfect sing-along song, too!
5. “Somebody Loves You” Betty Who… a
fun and upbeat dance song with sentimental lyrics to make it even more awesome!

Spotlight: The Silk Veil
The Silk Veil…
Ivy Honeycutt is the
owner and planner at The Silk Veil.
Originally from Baltimore, MD, Ivy lives in Charlotte with her two
daughters. 2014 marks the 6th year she has been in business… “I
wanted to own my own business for years but wasn’t sure what. Then a girlfriend
of mine got engaged and I helped her start planning her wedding. It was kind of
scandalous because come to find out, he was already married and had a few kids.
I enjoyed planning so much that I went back to school and became a
Certified Bridal Consultant. A year later, I went through more schooling to
become a Certified Wedding planner.”
you have a favorite season for events? Favorite type of wedding?
like Fall Weddings because of the perfect wedding. I love ethnic weddings like
Indian or Nigerian because they are not afraid to use different colors. I love
the customs and traditions."
would you describe the style and personality behind your brand?
am pretty laid back, yet silly. I am also blunt and to-the-point so you either
love me or not. I work with a lot of details and am great with budgets. We are
big on TEAMWORK since it takes all vendors to pull off a successful wedding. My
