I had the pleasure of working an Albanian/American wedding. But what made this wedding so unique is the selection of music as they dance to Latin, Greek, Top 40, classic, old school and top club dance music. In fact, Albanian and Greek music had very similar dances. Also, stopping in was new DJ to SSS, ex-NBA player Leron Ellis, who used his 6-11 body to take a cool picture of the bride and groom cutting the cake. Another thing amazing about this wedding was the fact it started off with a packed dance floor at such a high energy for the first 90 minutes, it felt like the party was dancing for 3 hours. This picture featured our new high powered battery operated uplights.... read more »

One of the many things I love about DJing someone's wedding is trying to absorb and enjoy the uniqueness of each bride and groom, their families and friends. That is why no matter how many years I've DJ'd, I still enjoy it to the fullest. This past weekend featured a brides father making a surprise video to play during their father-daughter dance (had to keep that from her). Then the bride surprising her Mom with a special dance (had to keep that from the Mom), followed be the groom surprising his Mom for their dance (had to keep that from her), playing the song the was his Mom and later father's wedding song. There wasn't a dry eye in the place but every face had a smile on it. What a great moment :)It also featured a surprise lap dance for the bride and groom (in fun) and an on the spot break out of the dance Gangham style (see pictures). They even broke the dance floor apart they were dancing so hard.... read more »

One of the many things I love about SSS is the different cultures and
backgrounds of people we get to see. This past weekend I had the honor
of being a part of a ceremony and double reception of an Ethiopian
couple. The traditions and the way their guests danced and participated
gave me a great appreciation of their culture. The party in wide open mode at the Ballantyne Hotel.Full party mode at Temple Beth El.An incredible exit as the guests carried off the Bride & Groom.Homemade Ethiopian wine.... read more »

A beautiful night in Charlotte with many out of town guests enjoying a high energy wedding reception at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. Playing music from the 50's to brand new pop songs, line dances like the Wobble to sing a longs like Journey's Don't stop believing, it was truly a special night. SSS Party Motivator Bradley lead the dancing and sing-a-longs on the dance floor as it remained packed from start to finish. Working with an all-star crew of Best Impressions Caterers, Hall & Webb event planners & Carolina Video production always makes a great event.... read more »

It's a great feeling when you get to see past brides and grooms thrive together and build their families years later. At this big ole country wedding that had 300+ guests in the brides back yard, I got to see 2 special couples that I DJ's their weddings over 9 and 6 years ago. Both past brides are sisters and have 1 child each. The bride and her family decorated including the groom who built a cement dance floor weeks before the wedding. It also featured the Father of the Bride driving the bride up the aisle in a 1951 original Ford pick up owned by her grandfather.... read more »

On June 23rd, I had the pleasure of DJ'ing a wedding at the beautiful location Bently's on 27. Not only does it have a great view, but it's also known for it's great food and wine. With of the most complicated intros, timed out for each couple, the party started off with an explosion! With each intro, every couple came into to a different song and a different dance and the crowd grew louder as the went. The night was so successful they party went 45 minutes overtime (over 6 hours in total) and the guests remained on the dance floor until the end.... read more »

A lot of things can make a wedding special. Working with top vendors. A beautiful location. Perfect weather. A bride, who's sister works in the industry and trusts you to entertain at their reception. How about, all of the above. Critsey Rowe Photography, Best Impressions Catering, A Place for flowers and Minister Patrick Malloy, all together at the beautiful Mint Museum uptown Charlotte. Congrats to Lauren and Jerry! Lauren's Matron of Honor Kristin (and her husband) have been in the wedding & event industry for years and it was an honor that they asked me to be a part of their family for the day.... read more »

My wedding at the Renaissance SouthPark featured an older couple with friends and family in their 40's or older. Most would figure it to be laid back, but not this wedding. From start to finish, the energy and dancing was non-stop. Pictures from Juliet Photography, featuring a French theme as he proposed in Paris. The passion and energy from the bride carried throughout the event and every guest had a blast!... read more »

last night's wedding was the perfect expression "Everybody enjoyed the experience of being at your wedding". The night was absolutely beautiful, tables set up around the Van Landingham Estate, the bar outside, music playing, people in and out of the dance floor, the food, the cake, the wine, etc. They even came in for the intros with the Pittsburgh Steeler's terrible towels waving around. In a very chill setting, I've almost never seen a bride with such a huge smile on her face throughout the night (the groom as well). I got to work with one of my favorites Tommy McCart (and Kristin) and Chris and Timmy with Cinematrimony Video. The really cool part is I got to work with Heather Bryson and her husband Ken as they planned the wedding but were also great friends with the bride and were guests. Overall, a fantastic experience!... read more »
